How to Enter a TAB Soccer Pool

Every TAB soccer pool on this site (Soccer 10, Soccer 13, Soccer 6, Soccer 4, Soccer Any 13 Xtra) is entered the same three ways: at a TAB betting outlet, online through TAB's own site, or through the TAB app. This page covers what each line costs, how a permutation multiplies that cost, and how to read a pool's closing time so you do not miss it.

It does not repeat FICA and account registration, which are covered on our general how-to-register guide; this page is specific to placing a soccer pool bet once you have an account.

Where to enter

In person, any TAB betting outlet takes a soccer pools bet on a paper slip, marked with the pool you want (S6, S10, S13, S4 or S13X) and your V/P coupon. Online and in the TAB app, each open pool on soccer6.co.za links straight through to a matching bet slip on tab.co.za, built from that pool's own date, program code and race number; TAB's own site opens a new TAB account through its registration flow if you do not already have one. A pool only accepts bets while it shows as OPEN; once it closes, that specific coupon is done and you have to wait for the next one.

Permutations: how the cost multiplies

A single entry marks one result per leg. A multiple entry, or permutation, marks more than one result on one or more legs, and TAB's rules are explicit about how that is costed: "the cost is [the unit price] per combination. Calculate the cost of a multiple entry by multiplying out the number of selections in each match" (TAB Chapter 6, rule 6.16.5, the general wording TAB uses for permutation cost across its pools). In practice, multiply the number of choices you make on each leg together to get the number of combinations, then multiply that by the unit price.

Two worked examples. On Soccer 10 at R2 a line: three choices on M1, two choices on M2, and a single choice on the other eight legs is 3 x 2 = 6 combinations, so R12. On Soccer Any 13 Xtra at R2 a line: marking two results on each of three of your thirteen chosen legs, with a single choice on the other ten, is 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 combinations, so R16. Add a third leg with all three results marked and the same bet becomes 2 x 2 x 3 = 12 combinations, R24. Perm costs grow fast, so work out the combination count before you commit to a multiple entry.

Closing times

A TAB soccer pool closes at the scheduled kickoff of its first leg and typically opens for betting two to three days before that. Real examples pulled from TAB's own fixtures feed today: a Soccer 6 coupon labelled "V1 P1" opened 2026-09-23 and closed at 18:00 on 2026-09-24 (its first leg's kickoff), while another Soccer 6 "V1 P1" coupon for the following week opened 2026-09-25 to close at 15:00 on 2026-09-26. A Soccer Any 13 Xtra coupon labelled "V3 P1" opened 2026-09-23 and was due to close at 15:00 on 2026-09-26, with its featured banner flagging an active carryover.

Once a pool shows as CLOSED, no more bets are accepted on it, even if some of its 30-, 13-, 10-, 6- or 4-match list has not kicked off yet. Check the close time printed on the pool itself rather than assuming it matches an earlier week's pool with the same V/P label.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a single Soccer 10 line cost?+

R2 for one choice per leg across all 10 matches, read from soccer6.co.za on 2026-09-24. A multiple entry costs R2 per combination, worked out by multiplying the number of choices made on each leg.

Why does Soccer 13 have two different prices?+

TAB runs a separate Saturday Soccer 13 pool at R1.60 per line and a Sunday and midweek pool at R2.00 per line, per TAB's own Chapter 6 rules (6.14.1.2 and 6.14.2.2). Check which pool your ticket is for before comparing costs.

How do I work out the cost of a permutation bet?+

Multiply the number of choices you have made on each leg together to get the number of combinations, then multiply that by the pool's unit price. Three choices on one leg and two on another, with single choices everywhere else, is 3 x 2 = 6 combinations. At R2 a line that is R12; at R6 a line it is R36.

When does a TAB soccer pool stop taking bets?+

At the scheduled kickoff of its first leg. Pools typically open two to three days before that. Once a pool shows CLOSED on TAB's own site, it is closed for every leg in it, whatever time the later legs kick off.
