TAB Review
TAB is the name behind the Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10, Soccer 13 and Any 13 Xtra results pages on this site: it is the operator that actually runs those pools, settles the tickets and pays out the dividends. It is run by 4Racing (Pty) Ltd out of Turffontein Racecourse in Johannesburg, and its core business is tote (pool) betting on horse racing, with the soccer pools sitting alongside it. That makes TAB a different kind of operator to Betway or Hollywoodbets: instead of fixed odds set match by match, a TAB pool splits a prize pool between everyone who picked the right results, and the dividend depends on how many other punters picked the same combination.
We reviewed TAB's own site and the configuration data its own app loads, including its footer legal text, licence numbers and FICA/withdrawal rules, which are printed verbatim in the app rather than hidden behind a login. We did not open an account, deposit our own money or test a payout, so we are not going to claim a payout speed we have not measured. TAB is strictly 18+, and every pool ticket and horse racing bet carries the usual risk of losing your stake.

What are TAB's Soccer pools, and what does 1, 2, 3 mean?
TAB runs the Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10 and Soccer 13 pools, plus Any 13 Xtra (TAB's own app codes this pool "Soccer 13 Any") and a separate Mega 10 Jackpot. Each pool asks you to pick the outcome of a fixed list of matches, and TAB's own notation for every leg is 1 for the home team (Team A) to win, 2 for the draw, and 3 for the away team (Team B) to win. That is different from the 1/X/2 shorthand you might have seen on other pool sites, so if you are cross-checking a ticket against this site's Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10 or Soccer 13 results, or the Any 13 Xtra results, read the numbers as 1/2/3, never 1/X/2.
Because these are pool bets, TAB pays out of a shared prize pool rather than at odds fixed in advance: the more people who picked the winning combination, the smaller each individual dividend. That is the trade-off for a small stake having a shot at a large payout when a pool rolls over or few people picked the winning line. We did not place a bet ourselves, so we cannot tell you what a typical Soccer 10 dividend looks like this week; check the live pool and, once results are in, this site's own Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10, Soccer 13 and Any 13 Xtra results pages.
Does TAB do horse racing and other sports too?
Yes - horse racing tote betting is TAB's original and biggest product, older than its soccer pools. TAB's own site describes itself as "South Africa's trusted home for tote betting on horseracing, soccer and selected sports," which matches its history: TAB is the modern successor to South Africa's old Totalisator Agency Board tote system, still run today out of Turffontein. Beyond horse racing and the soccer pools it lists selected other sports, though we could not confirm the exact list or whether TAB also offers fixed-odds markets alongside its tote pools (its own app configuration references a separate "fixed odds" link we could not open), so we are not going to guess at what that covers.
How do you deposit, withdraw and FICA at TAB?
TAB's app lists three ways to fund your account: bank card (processed through PayFast), a cash voucher, and Instant EFT. Withdrawals are paid out to a bank account, but TAB is explicit that they are not automatic: its own app copy says withdrawal requests are "manually processed" by staff during business hours, with a daily cut-off of 15h30, and that any query goes to [email protected]. FICA works in two tiers on TAB: there is a faster "Digital FICA" path, and a manual route where you upload a copy of your ID (South African) or passport (non-SA), with [email protected] as the contact for FICA queries specifically. TAB's own copy is clear that you need FICA verification completed before you can withdraw more than R50,000, so if you are only ever cashing out small pool dividends you may not hit that wall immediately, but completing FICA early is still the sensible move on any licensed SA operator.
| Method | Type | Notes (per TAB's own app) |
|---|---|---|
| Bank card (PayFast) | Deposit | Visa/Mastercard via PayFast |
| Voucher | Deposit | Cash voucher, redeemed in-app |
| Instant EFT | Deposit | Direct from your bank |
| Bank withdrawal | Withdrawal | Manually processed, daily cut-off 15h30 |
| Digital / manual FICA | Verification | Required to withdraw more than R50,000 |
Is TAB licensed and safe?
Yes. TAB's own footer copy states that 4Racing Proprietary Limited (Registration No. 2020/099054/07), based at Turffontein Racecourse, Johannesburg, is licensed by the Gauteng Gambling Board under licence numbers TOT-231 and JOH-116, and separately by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator under licence number 9-2-1-09583. That is two provincial regulators covering the one operator, which is a solid licensing footprint. TAB's app also carries the standard South African responsible-gambling notice - 18+ only, and the National Responsible Gambling Programme helpline on 0800 006 008. We read these details directly out of the app's own code rather than a marketing page, which is about as close to primary-source as a client-rendered app gets, but we did not test a live deposit or withdrawal ourselves, so we cannot personally vouch for how smoothly TAB's manual withdrawal process runs in practice.
Does TAB have a welcome bonus?
We could not find any welcome-bonus copy in TAB's own app configuration, and unlike Betway or Hollywoodbets it does not lead with a sign-up offer. Its app does have a Promotions section, but whether it is showing a live offer depends on a setting we could not read from outside a logged-in session, so we are not going to invent a bonus figure. If a promotion matters to you, check the Promotions tab in the TAB app itself rather than relying on a number quoted anywhere else, including here.
Our verdict
TAB is the licensed tote operator behind the Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10, Soccer 13 and Any 13 Xtra pools this site covers, plus South Africa's biggest tote horse racing book. It is not a fixed-odds sportsbook in the Betway or Hollywoodbets sense: it is pool and tote betting, run by a real, dual-licensed operator, and it is where you actually settle a TAB pool ticket.
Frequently asked questions
What pools does TAB run?+
TAB runs the Soccer 4, Soccer 6, Soccer 10 and Soccer 13 pools, Any 13 Xtra (TAB's own app calls this "Soccer 13 Any") and a separate Mega 10 Jackpot, alongside its core business of tote horse racing betting. These are the pools this site's own results pages track.
What do 1, 2 and 3 mean on a TAB Soccer pool?+
On every leg of a TAB Soccer pool, 1 means the home team (Team A) wins, 2 means a draw, and 3 means the away team (Team B) wins. TAB does not use 1/X/2 notation, so read any TAB ticket or result as 1/2/3.
Is TAB licensed in South Africa?+
Yes. Per TAB's own site, 4Racing Proprietary Limited (Registration No. 2020/099054/07) is licensed by the Gauteng Gambling Board under licence numbers TOT-231 and JOH-116, and by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator under licence number 9-2-1-09583. You must be 18 or older to bet.
How do I withdraw from TAB, and do I need FICA?+
TAB pays withdrawals to your bank account, but processes them manually with a daily cut-off of 15h30 rather than instantly. TAB's own app states you need FICA verification completed before withdrawing more than R50,000, with a faster digital option or a manual ID/passport upload. We did not test a withdrawal ourselves, so confirm current timing in the app.
Does TAB pay fixed odds or pool dividends?+
TAB's Soccer pools and horse racing bets pay out of a shared prize pool rather than at odds fixed in advance, so your dividend depends on how many other punters picked the same winning combination. Its app references a separate fixed-odds link we could not verify, so we are not confirming whether TAB also runs fixed-odds markets.
